Week # 7
September

“Challenge”
My Accomplishment
It
seems that my goals for this week were all achieved. Last week I have stated
that I will be executing 4 lessons but luckily, I was able to executed 5
lessons.
My Significant Experiences
This week was very tough for me because I need to
teach 4 sections every day (straight teaching). My cooperating teacher was
absent on Wednesday and Thursday so this was a big challenged for me. I’m very
happy because I was able to manage each class/section well. However, there were
some students who are noisy discussing with their peers so I always call their
attention to participate with the class discussion. In addition, my cooperating
teacher asked the Department Head of English to observe me in my first period.
I am very lucky because I was able to explore my knowledge in teaching and to
discover the strengths and weaknesses of my students through activities that I
employed in class discussion.
My Insight
Being
firm and confident is really effective in dealing with students. Through that,
your students will respect you as their teacher and they will participate in
class discussion. You just trust yourself that all is well.
Problems
My
problem during this week was the behavior of my students. Since my Cooperating
teacher was absent on Wednesday and Friday, I was tasked to take charge the 4
sections that we handled. Some of the students were really noisy it seems
that they don’t want to listen and some of them were sleeping especially those
who were seated at the back.
Solutions
The
solution for this problem was I called their name to stand and ask questions
for them to answer. Either way, I will not talk or discuss while they are noisy
I will wait for them to keep quite before I’ll continue my discussion. Thus,
I found it very effective.
Goals for Next Week
I
will be making my lesson plan and instructional materials for my rated demo on
Tuesday. Also, to execute at least lessons next week.
