“A Work
under Pressure”
MY ACCOMPLISHMENT
During
this week (August 8-10), it was our training on Boys Scout of the Philippines
(BSP). I’m very thankful because I attended such kind of training that was full
of learning’s and insights. Yes, I enjoyed every activity that was given to us;
the Senior Scouters who trained us was very approachable and friendly; we also
had the chance to know each other through that training. Moreover, on
Thursday and Friday, we were back to Baguio City National High School, and I
can proudly say that I accomplished executing my lesson plan in 4 sections.
MY SIGNIFICANT EXPERIENCES
Before the week of our training on Boys Scout of the Philippines, I told my
Cooperating teacher that we will be having training about Boys Scout of the
Philippines and we will not be reporting on Monday until Wednesday since that
was the schedule date for our training. So, I asked her “ Ma’am, may lesson po
ba ako ng Thursday at Friday para magawan ko na po ng lesson plan?”Then, she
told me that she will be the one to teach next week. After our training on BSP,
we went back to BCNHS and that was on Thursday. I went to the faculty room of
my Cooperating Teacher and I asked her if she needs help but she told me
“wala”. Furthermore, when I was about to live the faculty room, she told me
that I will be teaching “diphthongs” on Friday and she told me to make my
lesson plan within that day. I did my lesson plan and I executed it on Friday
in 4 sections. Though my voice was become husky because of continuous teaching,
I felt happy because my students were very active in participating in my class
discussion.
MY INSIGHT
Being a student teacher is not
really easy; there are a lot of challenges that we have to face in order to
succeed. But then there’s this question that keeps on lingering on my mind “Are
we a burden to our Cooperating Teacher? Or are we a big help to them? I don’t
know what would I think but I believed in myself that I always do my best to do
my duty as a practice teacher. But then, I'm
not sure if the problem is with me or my teaching, or if my critique teacher is
really determined to train me to be a teacher.
PROBLEMS
During this week, I encountered problems because after my last teaching
(3-4:00pm), my cooperating teacher asked me to make a lesson plan before 5pm.
She told me that “without lesson plan, no execution”. Though I’m very tired
because of continuous teaching, I said to myself that “this is a blessing”.
Though, I became nervous because what if the flow of my lesson plan is not
organized? But then I started making my lesson plan at the back of my IM
(cartolina) since I just finished teaching my last period that time. By that
time, I was in a hurry in making my lesson plan I did not think of the flow of
the lesson anymore. Suddenly, my Cooperating teacher told me to supervise the
students in her home room class. So I got confused, how about my lesson plan?
How can I finish it? I still have a class at 5:00- 6:00 pm in Navy Base?
However, I just thought that this day is a “blessing”.
SOLUTIONS
I felt that I was under pressured this week but I just thought that maybe this
is how my Cooperating Teacher trained me. Though I like her training to me
however, I’m thinking about my students what if they will not be able to
understand my lesson because the flow is vague and it is a rush work?
Nevertheless, I must accept it
because every Cooperating Teacher knows the best for their practice teacher.
GOALS FOR NEXT WEEK
I will be preparing my lesson
plan on drill method. I will be employing listening, speaking and writing
skills on my student’s activity.
